Bastille Day

Today is Bastille Day. Last year I was able to celebrate the start of the Revolution in Paris. It was really a special time to be there.
I spent the day at the Louvre. The line to get in wrapped all the way around the museum. At the popular works like the Mona Lisa, people were pressed ten deep to get a look, but in other galleries I found myself alone and free to dwell.
This was my view that night during the fireworks. The Eiffel Tower is like a magnet. Anywhere I was in Paris, my eye was drawn to it.
It was the most beautiful fireworks display I'd ever witnessed. I was just a few yards from the Seine and the explosions were going off right overhead.
After the show the tower lit up in the smoke was even more beautiful.
And since I can't be there this year, here's a collage of pictures from my last time in Paris.

Addams Family Part Two

I wanted to share more comics from books I have by Charles Addams. None of these panels contain characters from his famous Addams Family, but they all showcase his eerie, somewhat offbeat humor or comment on the past. He has a knack for sticking odd things in the midst of everyday people and seeing how they either react or ignore them completely.

See part one here.
